Chicken INN to fire Rahman Gumbo

Defending Castle Lager Premiership Champions Chicken Inn could soon fire head coach Rahman Gumbo and his technical staff.

The Bulawayo based side are on position 10 with just 23 points. Gumbo's boys have only won a single game in past seven.

Reports from Chicken Inn camp indicate that club's executive members which included chairman Life Ncube held a meeting with the technical team at Chicken Inn's head office at the weekend following the game at Luveve.

The executive is understood to have made it clear that result needed to start coming soon or risk the sack.

Gumbo has found it hard to replace Joey Antipas while a number of key players such as Edmore Chirambadare, Michelle Katsvairo, Danny Phiri have all left the club for South Africa.

Gumbo has clinched the Zimbabwe Premier League title twice with Highlanders as a coach and becomes the 5th head coach of Chicken Inn since their promotion into the top flight.

When he took over he told reporters that "My targets are really higher than what I expect from myself. I always like to say the sky is the limit.

"I want to do more than what I did before when I was in the local league and Chicken Inn qualified to play in the Champions League and I have been there before. I want to go a step higher with Chicken Inn. But I have got to know the players first and the players to know me better, then we can set our targets to say let's defend the championship or something like that."
